Grayslake Heritage Center & Museum’s Exhibits
The Grayslake Heritage Center & Museum features multiple exhibition galleries, a community room, archives and collections storage. It also incorporates the original Village Hall, a former one-room school house moved to the site and expanded in 1895.

National Library Week
Your Portal to Possibilities: National Library Week, April 6 - 12, 2025, is a celebration highlighting the valuable role that libraries, librarians, and library workers play in transforming lives and strengthening our communities.
Simply check out ANY physical material from the Grayslake Area Public Library during National Library Week and be entered into a drawing for a grand prize.

Vinyl Sundays w/ Nick from Andy's Records & Free Whiskey Tasting
Join Beer Bazaar for their monthly Vinyl Night with Nick from Andy's Records on Sunday, April 6th between 3-6pm. They’ll be sampling out whiskeys from Lynyrd Skynyrd (Hell House) and Whiskey Myers (Uncle Chicken), while spinning a selection of country rock classics and more.

Join 129 Center Cut for a fun-filled evening of creativity & imagination! Each child will get to design/craft their very own Easter basket! All supplies will be provided!! Each entry includes a children’s meal and beverage.

Lake County Folk Club Open Stage
Join the Lake County Folk Club for Open Stage. Sign up begins at 6 pm and music starts at 6:30 pm.
Anyone who would like to perform is encouraged to do so. Non-performing listeners are always encouraged, and will be pleasantly surprised with the diverse musical styles represented.
The first 12 performers get to do two songs (no more than ten minutes total). After the 1st 12, they will fit in as many one-song performers as time allows. Things get wrapped up at 8:30. Suggested donation is $3.

BINGO Night

The Grayslake Area Public Library’s popular book-inspired lecture series returns! Presenters will take participants beyond the book to discuss the history of when each book was written and the contemporary topics within the stories. Partnering with the Grayslake Heritage Center and Museum and the Grayslake Historical Society.
April’s book is The House on Mango Street by Sandra Cisneros.

Growing Up X Presentation
Erika Holst, Illinois State Museum curator, will take a closer look at toys, technology, and cultural touchstones of Generation X. This will be hybrid program offered in-person at the Grayslake Heritage Center & Museum or virtual.
The “Growing Up X” exhibition is organized by the Illinois State Museum and sponsored, in part, by the Illinois State Museum Society.

The On-Site Truck will be located at the Village Hall parking lot on the southwest corner of Center Street and Seymour Avenue.

Clothing & Textile Drive
Grayslake Area Public Library, in partnership with SWALCO, will host a drive-through collection event for clothing and textiles. Please bring only the items listed on the accepted list on the event page.
Your donations of new and gently used clothing and textiles will be reused and are tax-deductible. As much of the worn, torn, and stained materials as possible will be recycled. Thank you for helping divert these materials responsibly!

Beer Bazaar will provide an array of vibrant flowers from Victoria's Floral in Grayslake to personalize your creation.

Healthy Kids Running Series Race
Healthy Kids Running Series is a five (5) week running program offered in the spring and fall for kids Pre-K through 8th grade. Each HKRS Series takes place once a week and offers age-appropriate running events.

Song Circle at The Lake County Folk Club
The Lake County Folk Club will host their monthly Song Circle beginning at 6:30 pm.
Come out to play or just listen. Members and non-members are always welcome. One of their friendly hosts will keep the ball rolling.
This is a casual, no pressure opportunity to kick back, play some music and meet others. The participants form a circle, and each one in turn can choose to play a song or politely pass. It’s a chance to lead songs or to join in with others. They keep moving around the circle until it’s time to call it a night.

Early Childhood Resource Fair
The Grayslake Area Public Library invites you to explore the many early intervention and learning programs available to your family at the Early Childhood Resource Fair!
At the Early Childhood Resource Fair, you will be able to connect and meet other caregivers and parents with children birth to five years old and learn about various early childhood resources and programs available in the community for children and families!
All children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

SAVE THE DATE for Sunay, May 18th and support the Jeeps4Vets Foundation for the fourth annual “Remember the 22” fundraising event the begins in Libertyville and ends in the downtown Grayslake Village Center at noon.
Come out and see hundreds of jeeps decked out and lined up and down Center Street. There will also be vendors, music and raffles!

Song Circle at The Lake County Folk Club
The Lake County Folk Club will host their monthly Song Circle beginning at 6:30 pm.
Come out to play or just listen. Members and non-members are always welcome. One of their friendly hosts will keep the ball rolling.
This is a casual, no pressure opportunity to kick back, play some music and meet others. The participants form a circle, and each one in turn can choose to play a song or politely pass. It’s a chance to lead songs or to join in with others. They keep moving around the circle until it’s time to call it a night.

Memorial Day Parade & Ceremony
Grayslake will hold its annual Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony on Monday, May 26th. The parade will step-off at 9:30 am near the Grayslake Central High School parking lot on Lake Street and travel south on Lake Street to Junior Avenue and east to Memorial Park. The service will be held immediately following the parade.

It’s time for the 13th Annual Bunny Bar Hop! Join in for a night of fun while helping give children a special Easter!
Hop your way around Village Center bars/restaurants on Saturday, April 5th. Bring Easter Basket donation items to each stop (crayons, coloring books, bubbles, etc.). April 5th is First Contact Day to millions of Trekkies around the world and the Grayslake Heritage Center & Museum is jumping on that starship with Star Trek Day!
This is a hybrid event. Join them in person or online (link to follow) with sociology professors and authors, John & Maria Jose Tenuto, to revisit the making of 1982 iconic film “Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan.”
Many rare and newly discovered photographs paint the incredible picture of a company of actors and artists whose talents combined to create one of science fiction’s most critically acclaimed films. The presentation will share trivia and little-known facts about the making of the film and how it was made despite limitations of budget, time, and technology.

St. Baldrick's Fundraiser Event @ GMS
The St. Baldrick's Foundation is a not-for-profit organization and is made up of dedicated volunteers and donors. Since 2000, St. Baldrick's has hosted nearly 4,200 head-shaving events and shaved over 190,500 heads, raising over $118 million for life-saving childhood cancer research.
Did you know that our own Grayslake Middle School is a frequent event host for St. Baldrick's?!
On Friday, April 4th from 2:00 pm-6:00 pm, GMS will be hosting its 10th Annual Grayslake Community St. Baldrick’s Event open to the community.

The Gen X Games Vol. 2
The Grayslake Heritage Center & Musuem is offering up another day of retro game play on March 28th.
Anytime between 12 pm - 4 pm, they invite you to kick back on a vintage couch to play a few rounds of Super Mario Bros. and Pac-Man or grab friends for Trivial Pursuit, Girl Talk, or Mind the Gap.
Also, stop by Andy's Records on 16 N Whitney Street and tell them you're there to play ... Gen X style. They'll show you how a record player works and might even let you play a few rounds on their Pac-Man arcade!
